Bihar's agricultural economy is primarily based on diverse crops and small and marginal farmers, whose crop productivity, quality, and income are affected by pests and diseases. The continuous use of chemical pesticides has led to problems such as pesticide residues, pest resistance, loss of biodiversity, and environmental imbalance. Consequently, biological control is emerging as an important and sustainable alternative. The present study aims to analyze the biological foundations, current status, major innovations, practical challenges, and future prospects of biological control in Bihar. The study draws upon secondary data and evidence from Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, the Department of Agriculture, and relevant scientific literature.
