Abstract
Hindi is one of the major languages of India and has played a significant role in strengthening the country's cultural, social, and national unity. The development of Hindi can be traced from Sanskrit, Pali, Prakrit, and Apabhramsha to its present form. The language serves not only as a medium of communication but also as a carrier of Indian culture and civilization. In a multilingual nation like India, Hindi has established a distinct identity as a link language, the Official Language of the Union, and a means of promoting national integration.
